New Legacy Awards - Call for Nominations
Honouring our Landscaping Legends
The Registered Master Landscapers (RML) is introducing the Landscape Legacy Awards to honour exceptional contributions to the Association over the past 50 years. These new awards will include past Life Members and Distinguished Service Award recipients, as well as new honourees.
The awards will be presented biennially, coinciding with the Young Landscaper of the Year Competition finals. Awardees will be recognised at a Celebration Dinner.
Purpose:
- To honour exceptional service to the Association.
- To inspire future leaders, complementing the Young Landscaper of the Year competition.
Outcome:
- New recipients announced every two years.
- Publicised on social media and in NZ Landscaper Magazine.
- Roll of Honour updated online.
- A kauri tree planted in their name, identified by GPS location.
- Commemorative certificate/artwork presented.
- Travel and accommodation covered for honorees at the event (details to follow).
- An additional award for a local hero – a regional RML member with exceptional contributions.
Criteria:
- Exceptional commitment and contribution to the Association.
- Embodiment of RML’s values: integrity, professionalism, competence.
- Advocacy for the Association and the industry.
- Contribution to increased professionalism in the sector.
Eligibility:
- Nominees must be or have been part of a registered member company.
- Nominations must be made and seconded by representatives from different RML member companies.
The Board’s decision on nominations is final. Unsuccessful nominations may be resubmitted in future years.
